Wow! 259 attended in the temple (OK I exaggerated – there was one empty seat because someone was ill on the day) and 209 stayed for lunch.

What a wonderful day we had last Saturday at the Annual Convocation of Provincial Grand Chapter. Lots of firsts – first time the temple was full (even though we added as many extra seats as was physically possible); first time the Broughton Suite managed to hold 209 for lunch (Grange Banqueting Suite learned that the main room could seat up to 143 and the annexe 70); first time for Philip Bowler as DC (he must have done well because our visitors said so); first meeting for our new Deputy Grand Superintendent; first meeting for our new Scribe E . And a few lasts – last meeting as Deputy Grand Superintendent Tony Higton; last meeting as Auditor Eric Mitchell; last meeting as Treasurer John Renshaw; and last meeting as Scribe E Roger Haylett. The Grand Superintendent paid suitable tribute to all these long-standing and hard working Companions who have given superb service to the Province for many years and for up to three Grand Superintendents. But it won’t be the last we hear of any of them.

There were 61 Distingushed Guests from 15 Provinces, including 15 Grand Superintendents and Past GS’s; and 8 visiting Scribes E to see Roger off.

The summons is below and we congratulate all those who received appointments and promotions.[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”]
