On the 27th June, at 7.30 pm, the annual dinner for the Provincial Officers, Supreme Grand Chapter Officers, and their partners took place at the Engine Shed, Derby.
This year’s event had been moved from October in Buxton to June in Derby – and an inspired change it was – getting the team together much earlier in their year of office, and in the warmer south!
The Engine Shed, located in the historic Roundhouse (which brought back early work memories for Pat Swift at least and provided vigourous discussion about the engine design on the wall ), is the graduate restaurant of Derby College’s Hospitality and Culinary Arts Academy. It is an impressive building and hosted an equally impressive event to bond this year’s team.
The quality of the food was matched only by that of the company, and was almost equal to the Third Provincial Grand Principal’s (Peter Whysall ) toast to the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent which was appreciated by all; including Chas!
