As the Primus MEZ of the new Derbyshire Motorcycle Chapter remarked, Chapter Consecrations in Derbyshire are like buses. You wait 28 years for one, then two come together (or at least within 13 months of each other). Saturday 21st October at Long Eaton saw the Consecration of Derbyshire Motorcycle Chapter by the ME Grand Superintendent and his Provincial Officers under the expert guidance of EComp Philip Bowler, the Provincial Grand DC. After the 20 founders were presented with their founders jewels by the ME Grand Superintendent, EComps Philip Wright, Dylan Burgess and Ranjit Verma, the Three Chapter Principals, were then installed by the Installing Officer EComp Graham Boyd, the Deputy Grand Superintendent. He presented them with the Charter of the Chapter and they installed their officers. The Consecrating Officers and Installing Officers were elected as honorary members and four joining members and eight candidates for exaltation were proposed. There are more in the pipeline, but it will take all year to process those already proposed! The temple was fairly full and nearly all stayed for lunch where the ME Grand Superintendent was presented with a DMC red and black waistcoat. A thoroughly enjoyable day and another new chapter which threatens to be very successful.
