The meeting on this occasion took place at Derby Masonic Hall on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 commencing at 6.30 pm. All Royal Arch Companions were welcome to attend to see this special ceremony.

The origin of the ceremony which originally took place before the Candidate was exalted is unknown, although it was part of the Royal Arch degree for the first 60 years of its existence.

It was removed from the English version of the Exaltation ceremony when all references to Christianity were erased from the ritual following the union of the two Grand Lodges in 1813. However, some Chapters continued to perform the ceremony and it is still performed in the Province of Bristol.

The current ritual which was prescribed by Supreme Grand Chapter in December 2010 is similar to the Bristol workings and, slightly amended, is that used by Derbyshire Companions.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
