dgs forum 2015

On Tuesday the 13th October, Derbyshire Provincial Grand Chapter hosted the Deputy Grand Superintendents’ Forum at Cleve Lodge, Long Eaton.

Each year the Forum is hosted by a different Province and this year the event was organised by our Deputy, Tony Higton QFSM.

The forum was honoured on this occasion by the presence of the 2nd Grand Principal, George Pipon Francis who for the last 10 years in this role has been very supportive of the Forum.

It was attended by 23 Deputies and 16 Support Staff from the Provinces and all were welcomed by our Grand Superintendent, Charles Cunnington.

This occasion was one of the last duties of George Francis before his term of office comes to an end at Supreme Grand Chapter on the 11th November. He paid tribute to the Deputies for all the work they do in assisting their respective Grand Superintendents and for the ideas which they share in the Forum to improve the workings of the Royal Arch.

He thanked the Province of Derbyshire for arranging this very informative meeting.

A most acceptable meal was enjoyed afterwards. Tony Higton paid tribute to the manager and staff of Cleve Lodge for the excellent meal and the assistance they had given.

The last occasion when the event was held in Derbyshire was in October 2008.
