Last Thursday saw a very successful (and warm) Annual Convocation in Derby. Just over 200 attended, with all but about 20 staying for dinner. We had almost 60 Distinguished Guests from 14 other Provinces, and a number of Heads of Other Orders from the Province. The list of companions appointed, re-appointed and promoted is below – and we congratulate them all.
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent promised another £3100 to the PGM for the Derbyshire 2025 Festival, £1100 of which came from the sale of Chapter of Unity’s equipment which they had donated to the Province to be sold for the Festival funds.
But the highlight of the meeting was the surprise attendance of E Comp Ernest Tryner, PAGSoj who was awarded the Grand Superintendent’s Certificate of Merit in his 62nd year of Royal Arch masonry, and he received a rousing standing ovation.
Drinks were taken on the patio and lawn, with supper following. All in all a great day.
